The statistics for September are in. There were 70 sales of detached homes. That’s close to August’s total of 67, but well off the September 2020 total of 92. The Benchmark Price – that is, the price of an average home in an average area – rose 2.4% to $867,700, representing yet another all-time high for detached homes on the Coast. Year-to-date sales total 659, a large increase over the 523 sales last year. Apartments and townhome sales thus far this year total 205, well up from the 129 sales this time last year. With the increasing popularity of attached homes and the decreased supply, we expect prices to rise. Land sales remained steady with 9 sales in September and August, but with 159 sales year-to-date, we’re up almost 100% from this time last year.
